A Legacy of Innovation and Engineering

The roots of our reinforcement company date back to the late 1990s at the University of Michigan, where Helix’s founder, Luke Pinkerton, aimed to solve concrete’s inherent weakness. His exhaustive research led to the development of a small, twisted metal fiber and resulted in the official launch of Helix Steel and Helix® Micro Rebar® in 2003.

This innovative product stemmed from Luke’s findings that it made concrete structures more resilient and ductile than traditional manufacturing methods.

Helix has experienced tremendous growth over the years — Helix® Micro Rebar® has been a key component in over 40,000 construction projects. A key milestone was attaining ISO 9001-2015 accreditation for quality manufacturing.
