Luke Pinkerton, President and CTO

Luke Pinkerton, PE (ME) is the President, Chief Technology Officer, and founder of Helix Steel. He has a BS in engineering physics from Hope College, an MS in structural engineering from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Luke is Chair of the direct tension task group of ASTM Committee C09, Secretary of ACI 380 (structural plain concrete), consulting member of ACI 332 (residential construction), and associate member ACI 544 (fiber reinforced concrete), ACI 551 (tilt-up panels) and ACI 564 (3D printing). In his work, he has employed alternative flexural strength performance-based design approaches in thousands of structures since 2002. In 2018, he was awarded the Tilt Up Concrete Associations Robert Aiken Award for Innovation for his work in this area. He is committed to providing leadership within the concrete industry as well as to the advancement of discontinuous reinforcement technology.

John Filush, Plant Manager

John Filush has been with Helix since 2019, and has over 25 years in operations management. He graduated from Central Michigan University, and he and his wife Mary have four children and five grandchildren. Besides spending time with his family, John enjoys playing golf, basketball, softball and cheering on the Tigers and Red Wings.

Dan Lucas, Account and Finance Manager

Dan Lucas joined Helix in 2017. He focuses on Commercial and Industrial sales, but also handles strategic planning and continuous improvement. Prior to Helix, Dan worked for over five years in financial and sales support roles within the commercial construction industry. He received degrees from Grand Valley State University in Accounting and Statistics, and earned an MBA from Ball State University. Dan also has his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate. From small projects to multi-million dollar projects, Dan prides himself on being extremely thorough and prompt with his customers. Outside of Helix, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, Jessie, and son, Henry.

Erica Marr, Segment Sales Representative

Erica Marr joined Helix in 2019 in Inside Sales, but has since moved to servicing the Residential, ICF, Precast, Infrastructure, International markets. She holds a degree in Geography & GIS from Eastern Michigan University. When she’s not at work, she is active outdoors (running, biking, rock climbing) with her husband, Spencer, son, Henrik, and Bernedoodle, Bernie.

Justin Idalski, Engineering Manager

Justin Idalski, PE (MI) has been with Helix Steel for over six years. He provides technical support for designers and engineers who want to use Helix in all industries. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan. Justin and his wife have one daughter, and he enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, and embarrassing his daughter at her sporting events.

Al Juarez, Sales Consultant

Al Juarez joined Helix in 2020. He has extensive experience in project development and management. He has an undergraduate degree in Marketing from Michigan State University and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University. In his spare time, Al enjoys spending time with his wife Shawn and two sons, hiking, biking, reading, and leading a men’s group at his church

TJ Lambert, Inside Sales

Thomas “T.J.” Lambert joined Helix Steel in 2020 as a Junior Inside Sales Representative focusing on developing new customer accounts and relationships with customers. He has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Geoscience from Michigan State University. In his spare time, Lambert enjoys fishing, hiking, snowboarding, and traveling.
