Join our Live Webinar on “Specifying/Delegating Designs with Helix Micro Rebar”
Is this your first time specifying Helix Micro Rebar? Let us walk you through the process of engaging our engineering support team through construction and beyond. Learn how to develop basic Helix Micro Rebar designs with our specification tool and how to efficiently use our engineering team as a resource to provide value-added Helix Micro Rebar designs to your clients.
Not ready to stamp the design yourself? No problem! We will also cover the process of delegated design and discuss how our network of Helix Steel’s experienced professional engineers can provide this service once the design is delegated.
Our free webinar will give you insight directly from Helix Steel’s president Luke Pinkerton, and every webinar attendee will receive an official Certificate of Completion.
What you will learn:
- The ingenuity behind Helix Micro Rebar concrete reinforcement
- The easy process of working with Helix Micro Rebar and using our online specification tool
- How to create basic designs with Helix Micro Rebar
President & CTO
Luke Pinkerton, PE (ME) is the President, Chief Technology Officer, and founder of Helix Steel. He has a BS in engineering physics from Hope College, an MS in structural engineering from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Luke is Chair of the direct tension task group of ASTM Committee C09, Secretary of ACI 380 (structural plain concrete), consulting member of ACI 332 (residential construction), and associate member ACI 544 (fiber reinforced concrete), ACI 551 (tilt-up panels) and ACI 564 (3D printing). In his work, he has employed alternative flexural strength performance-based design approaches in thousands of structures since 2002. In 2018, he was awarded the Tilt Up Concrete Associations Robert Aiken Award for Innovation for his work in this area. He is committed to providing leadership within the concrete industry as well as to the advancement of discontinuous reinforcement technology.
About Helix Steel
Helix Steel is an innovative business based in Michigan that manufacturers and distributes the proprietary Helix® Micro Rebar® concrete reinforcement. The one-inch-long twisted steel pieces are mixed with concrete to create a long-lasting bond, preventing cracks before they even start, and are code-approved in many applications from warehouse slabs and highway bridges to tilt-up panels and ICF.
Proactive Concrete Reinforcement Technology
Saves You Time
Every 10,000 sq. ft. of rebar replaced with Micro Rebar® saves one full day of construction.
Saves You Money
Using Micro Rebar® allows contractors to simplify operations, dramatically reducing project costs.
A Superior Product
When compared to rebar, Helix® Micro Rebar® can increase fatigue resistance by up to 300%, and flexural strength by up to 33%.
Pier 57 Ferris Wheel
Pier 57 is a Seattle waterfront location favored by tourists and locals. It was lengthened to construct a 156 ft diameter Ferris wheel which opened in 2012. Helix® Micro Rebar™ reinforcement was incorporated into the project design to fully replace the #6 rebar cages inside 53 piles.
Pulaski Egg Farm
Rose Acre Farms offers commodity eggs, specialty eggs including cage-free varieties, liquid eggs, dried eggs, and egg protein powder.
The Villages of Indigo Green on St. Maarten are located in one of the most desirable destinations of the Caribbean.
Helix® Micro Rebar™ reinforcement allows architects to design structures that are not rectangular and provides a reinforcement solution for technologies such as 3D concrete printing.
