Developed, constructed and operated by Invenergy, Lackawanna Energy Center is a 1,485 MW natural gas combined-cycle electric generation facility.

The facility has the capacity to power more than one million homes in the region and generate over $50m in revenue over the life of the project for its host community, the Borough of Jessup, Pennsylvania.

The facility features single-shaft design where each of three 500MW power islands comprises a combustion turbine and steam turbine that share a single generator. This is intended to optimise facility efficiency while still allowing for the independent operation of each natural gas turbine.
